Dr. Stanley Jacobs is no stranger to educating adults about the cosmetic and medical care he offers, from presenting talks in the community to appearing on KRON4 TV to explain treatments and procedures to viewers in and around San Francisco. Plastic surgery and related work are endlessly fascinating subjects—especially in how they relate beauty and aesthetics to health and wellbeing—and Dr. Jacobs is now sharing his insight into the field with a new demographic: students.
Facial cosmetic surgeon Dr. Jacobs, BSc, MSC, MD, FRSC(C), was invited to participate as a speaker in the Academic Advantage program set for April 8, gathering together medical professionals to share guidance with junior high and high school students considering a career in healthcare.
At 9 a.m., he’ll join oral and maxillofacial surgeon Christopher Daniel, DDS, MD, and general surgeon David Soto, MD, at the Flamingo Conference Resort & Spa in Santa Rosa to host a presentation that kicks off a morning of vocational guidance and mentorship. The event includes advice on getting into an ideal college, opportunities to speak with a variety of medical professionals, and a raffle for an all-access pass for online Kaplan SAT prep.
More specifically, the assembled professionals and volunteers will help attendees gain greater understanding of how to start their pursuit of a medical or dental career now in junior high or high school, get tips on creating a standout college application, learn the standard college admission process, get an idea of a medical professional’s typical day, and find out about the educational and training steps necessary to become a professional in the healthcare industry.
Guests have been invited to RSVP at www.academicsonoma.com.
