Stanley W. Jacobs

Dr. Jacobs is board certified by the American Board of Facial Plastic and Reconstructive Surgery (ABFPRS). He is one of a few facial plastic surgeons in the United States who received fellowship training after residency. This training was with the late Larry D. Schoenrock, M.D., at the University of California, San Francisco.
Dr. Jacobs is triple board certified. In addition to the ABFPRS, he is also certified by the American Board of Otolaryngology Head and Neck Surgery and the Royal College of Surgeons of Canada.
Dr. Jacobs is also a member of the European Academy of Facial Plastic Surgery. He has been Chief of Surgery at Sutter Hospital in Santa Rosa and Chief of Facial Plastic Surgery at Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital. He has hospital privileges at Sutter Hospital and Santa Rosa Memorial Hospital in Santa Rosa, CA, and the California Pacific Medical Center in San Francisco, CA.
Dr. Jacobs was a multi-term elected house delegate for the California Medical Association, sitting on the specialty committee representing facial cosmetic surgery.
Training
During his six years as a surgical intern and resident, Dr. Jacobs performed heart, vascular, and lung surgery, intensive care unit training and otolaryngology, head and neck surgery, and facial plastic and reconstructive surgery.
In Toronto, most cosmetic facial surgery is done in the hospital because of government subsidies. Therefore, Dr. Jacobs was able to perform more rhinoplasty, eyelid, and facelift surgeries in training than most American plastic surgeons do in their first five to 10 years in practice.
Dr. Jacobs attended the University of Western Ontario Medical School from 1979 to 1983. This medical school was voted the No. 1 medical school in Canada-“The Harvard of the North.”
His undergraduate work was at the internationally renowned McGill University in Montreal, where he graduated magna cum laude with a Bachelor of Science degree. Dr Jacobs also has a Master of Science degree from the Department of Medical Biophysics and Immunology at the premier cancer center in Canada, the Ontario Cancer Institute in Toronto.
Dr. Jacobs attends medical conferences two to three times every year in facial plastic surgery and has written a number of articles ranging from cosmetic surgery to radiation physics.
Dr. Jacobs’ lifetime goal is to become one of the premier facial plastic surgeons in the world by constantly critiquing his own work in an honest and analytical manner. He believes beauty of the fine arts can be applied to aesthetics of facial plastic surgery. It is to this end he continually strives.
Community Activity
Dr. Stanley Jacobs spoke to around 400 high-school students about his career, and the importance of persevering in curiosity and life-long learning at the MI FUTURO Youth Healthcare Symposium at Sonoma State University. He has been a guest speaker at Mi Futuro multiple times.
